For the first time in the history of Kazakhstan, a stable habitat of snow leopards was recorded on the territory of the Altyn Emel National Natural Park in Almaty region. According to scientists, it is unique because it is located in the mountains with a height of 1,200 meters. It had previously been considered that the snow leopards prefer to breed and hunt at a height of nearly 5,000 meters. Thanks to the camera traps installed just a month ago, scientists were convinced of the opposite. The footage captured a whole family of snow leopards.
