Netflix releases Kazakh documentary for first time

Kazakh documentary ‘Sea Tomorrow’ is on Netflix. The film directed by Katerina Suvorova, released on the largest streaming service, tells about the life of the Aral Sea region residents. This documentary project tells four stories, namely about a gardener trying to revive the gardens, a biologist exploring the bottom of the dried-up sea, young people dismantling ship parts for scrap, and a young man from a family of fishermen. The Kazakh film has received several national and international awards, including the Anthropology and Sustainable Development Award of the Jean Rouch Festival in Paris. The film is now available to viewers from Europe. In the U.S, people can watch it on the Amazon platform. In addition, negotiations are underway to broadcast the film in the CIS countries.
