Monkeypox: Kazakh Health Ministry tightens border and airport controls

Kazakhstan has tightened border control measures due to the monkeypox outbreak, particularly at airports and border crossings. Special attention is given to travelers arriving from countries with reported cases. The Kazakh Health Ministry outlined the steps being taken to prevent the spread of the infection and confirmed that there are currently no cases of monkeypox in the country. Medical professionals recommend that Kazakh citizens take precautions when traveling to endemic countries, including avoiding contact with infected individuals and wild animals, wearing protective clothing and gloves when interacting with wildlife, and maintaining personal hygiene. If symptoms such as a rash or high fever appear, individuals are advised to seek medical attention. It is worth noting that the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the monkeypox epidemic a public health emergency of international concern.
