Business leaders in Kazakhstan shared effective tools and
proven practices with entrepreneurs from the capital at a recent conference.
Participants learned about modern strategies for scaling their businesses and
building a recognizable, marketable brand. The platform, launched in 2018, was
designed to provide non-financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises
(SMEs). Since then, over 2,500 entrepreneurs have undergone mentor-led training.
Last year alone, more than 100 individuals completed the business acceleration
program. The event took place in Astana with support from the European Bank for
Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), in partnership with an international oil
and gas company.
«We help attract external experts and reimburse their
services through non-repayable grants covering up to 75%. Another key area is
training - we run acceleration programs. Every year, we have implemented these
programs in three western regions, training a cohort of entrepreneurs. Their
needs have now evolved - they are increasingly focused on financial management
and investment. Therefore, we are gradually adjusting the program concept and expanding
it to Astana starting in 2025,» said Almaz Zhumashev, project manager of the EBRD.
