Median internet speed in Kazakhstan up 63% in one year

The number of internet users in Kazakhstan is growing. Today, 91 out of 100 people have access to high-speed broadband Internet, finprom.kz reported. Just a year ago 84 people out of 100 in Kazakhstan were connected to the World Wide Web.

In addition to the growth in the number of internet users, the average speed of the mobile internet is also growing. Analysts at the Speedtest Global Index calculated that the median speed increased by 63.4 percent over the year, reaching 19.64 Mbps at the beginning of this year. In comparison, the median speed of the global mobile internet increased by only 40.6 percent.

The current situation is brought about by record capital investments in the field of mobile communications, which, according to some analysts, may lead to higher prices for mobile internet in the future.
