In Kazakhstan, colleges are training in-demand
specialists. In Kostanai, for example, the College of Automobile Transport is
preparing engineering and technical personnel for local machine-building
enterprises. Over the past four years, the college has introduced seven new
specialties and now educates over 1,400 students from across the country. President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised the college’s model at the National Kurultai
meeting, emphasizing the importance of expanding its experience to northern
regions.
«Indeed, discussions highlighted the strong
connection between vocational education and the country’s economy. It is
encouraging that society now recognizes the importance of skilled trades and
the working person. I shared with the Head of State and my colleagues how our
college operates and why our approach is successful. Our focus is on the needs
of enterprises in the Kostanai region — identifying the specialties they
require, obtaining the necessary licenses, and preparing students ahead of
demand,» said Dmitriy Pavlenko, principal of the Kostanai College of Automobile
Transport.
