Strengthening cooperation in ensuring global financial stability was
discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Egmont Group
Executive Secretary Jérôme Beaumont. The parties also touched upon joint steps
to implement the agreements reached during the talks between President
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Chair of the organization Elżbieta Franków-Jaśkiewicz. The meeting discussed the mechanism of cooperation in countering illicit financial outflows and the financing of
terrorism, including asset recovery. Jérôme Beaumont commended the reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan. Since 2023,
Kazakhstan has been a regional representative within the organization’s structure.
