118 Kazakh citizens have expressed a desire to
return home from Israel by a special flight which is planned to be set up for
them tomorrow, as was announced by the spokesperson for the Kazakh Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Aibek Smadiyarov. According to him, no information about
dead, injured and taken hostage Kazakh citizens in Israel was received while 77
people are registered with the consular section of Kazakhstan’s diplomatic
mission in Israel. Five Kazakh citizens study in Israel’s universities. Also, there
may be over 400 Kazakhs in Israel who are not registered with the consular office.
“The country’s Foreign Ministry and the Embassy
of Kazakhstan in Tel Aviv opened an emergency hotline for Kazakh citizens in
Israel and their relatives in the homeland. During these two days, we
handled more than 500 calls and appeals from our compatriots. Our diplomats in
Tel Aviv are in constant contact with Kazakh citizens in Israel. In order to
ensure prompt communication, a special chat room has been created in the
messenger, which currently includes nearly 200 citizens of Kazakhstan,
temporarily and permanently residing in Israel,” Smadiyarov shared.
As noted by the Kazakh Foreign
Ministry, the staff of the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Israel as well as the
created operational headquarters at the country’s Foreign Ministry will remain
in place and continue their work. The Kazakh Foreign Ministry once again called
on the parties to the conflict to a peaceful resolution of the situation.
“Kazakhstan expresses deep concern over the
serious escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, which has caused
numerous civilian casualties. We call on the parties to search for
political instruments to peacefully resolve the situation and not resort to
actions that could lead to further escalation of the situation not only between
the two states but also in the Middle East as a whole,” Smadiyarov added.
