An electronic information system for the distribution of fuels and lubricants is planned to be introduced in Kazakhstan. The joint project of the country’s ministries of agriculture and energy is expected to be launched before the end of this year. This was announced at a briefing by Kazakh Vice Minister of Energy Asset Magauov. This system will allow direct transactions between fuel suppliers and agricultural producers.
“In our opinion, the introduction of the electronic information system will allow farmers to openly distribute diesel fuel volumes, eliminate redundant links in the marketing chain, and prevent possible corruption components. This will ensure transparency in the production and distribution of fuel and lubricants,” said Asset Magauov, Kazakh Vice Minister of Energy.
A single database will be created as well. According to experts, the cost of fuel for agricultural producers will be 15 to 30 percent lower than retail. In general, 400,000 tonnes of cheaper diesel fuel were allocated to agricultural producers for spring field work.
