Say no to online bullying! Kazakhstan will take measures to stop the trolling on the internet. The concepts of “bullying” and “cyberbullying” will appear in the country’s legislation. The corresponding document is already under the development. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in his state-of-the-nation address instructed to work out the measures to stop the pressure on the Internet. However, according to experts, despite the fact that the law in the country has not been adopted yet, malefactors will get punishment for such acts anyway. Accountability measures will be considered under the current Criminal Code of the country.
“Speaking of cyberbullying, there is another article we can talk about. It is the article 401, which provides for liability for defamation against a judge. However, the rules are built in the way that one part of the liability is liability for defamation against the judge and the jury, and the second part, the rules providing for liability for defamation against a prosecutor, forensic expert, person conducting an inquiry and so on. These rules provide for liability for defamation against the listed persons only if the defamation is related to the case under consideration,” said Nadezhda Yanchuk, a public foundation lawyer.
