Kazakhstan set to register cancer drug

Kazakhstan’s first cancer drug is set to be registered by the end of the year and may become available as early as next year, as announced by the country’s Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek. He noted that the timeline for bringing the drug to market is linked to the need to comply with strict national and international requirements, as well as to complete all stages of clinical trials. These trials are still ongoing and are showing positive progress. Notably, the drug was developed at the National Laboratory Astana at Nazarbayev University.

«These clinical trials are currently underway. We are working closely with the Health Ministry and the National Center for Expertise of Medicines and Medical Devices. The regulations there are very strict, and we also need to comply with the additional standards of the Eurasian Economic Union. Once the registration process is completed, clinics will be able to use the drug,» noted Kazakh Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek.
