Kazakhstan’s public figure publishes free self-study guide to Kazakh language

Public figure Gleb Ponomarev has proposed a straightforward and effective method for learning Kazakh. He published a book that stands out from ordinary textbooks; instead of presenting rules and exercises, it explains the language’s features with real-life examples and the author’s observations. The publication consists of 86 pages and covers 12 key topics that learners of the Kazakh language frequently encounter, including pronunciation, specific sounds, cases, and the rules of vowel harmony. The book is in the public domain, freely available. According to the author, this work is his contribution to popularizing the language.

«For me, learning Kazakh has been a long and thorny path. I studied it in school, but the explanations were unclear, so I learned it on my own, looking for various courses. I know several languages, so as a linguist, I was able to break down the Kazakh language into building blocks and convey the rules as clearly as possible. I have enough knowledge, and I simply decided to share it and support Kazakh citizens in their language learning. This is my personal civic initiative,» shared Ponomarev, the author of the book «Kazakh language with Gileke».
