Kazakhstan’s currency design may be enhanced with new elements

Additional elements may be incorporated into the design of Kazakhstan’s national currency, the tenge, including the signature of the National Bank Governor and a counterfeit disclaimer. The corresponding amendments are currently under public discussion. According to the country’s monetary regulator, these changes are necessary to enhance the authenticity assurance of the issued banknotes to consumers. This practice is implemented in a number of countries, including the European Union, England, the U.S. and Singapore.
