Kazakhstan’s capital tightens quarantine

Quarantine in Kazakhstan’s capital will be tightened from June 27. According to the new decree of the city’s chief sanitary doctor, opening hours of shopping malls will change again. They will work on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will be closed on weekends regardless of whether they have vaccination points. An exception will be made for pharmacies and grocery stores. Food courts are allowed for take-out and delivery, except for those that participate in the Ashyq project. Changes are also made to the opening hours of cafes and restaurants. They will be able to work until 8 p.m. on weekdays, and until 10 p.m. on weekends. The organization of mass events and celebrations is strictly prohibited. The number of buses will be increased during rush hours; they will not work on Sundays. At least 80 percent of staff of state organizations, national companies and enterprises will switch to the remote working regardless of the form of ownership. This requirement is optional if staff are vaccinated. Those who have been vaccinated or have recovered in the last six months will be able to work offline.
