Housing in Kazakhstan is relatively affordable in comparison to other countries. According to finprom.kz, the country took the ninth place among 107 states in the international ranking of Price per Square Meter. There has been a significant increase in residential contracts for sale and purchase since the beginning of the year. More than 53,000 contracts were signed in the country in March, which is 2.4 times more than in the same period of last year. The biggest amount of the contracts is accounted for Mangystau region. The top three also included Nur-Sultan and Almaty cities. Northern Kazakhstan showed the lowest figure in the number of residential contracts.
The country has a good rating in terms of housing affordability as well. Kazakhstan ranks 35th out of 109 states, surpassing all the EAEU countries. The top three of the ranking include Saudi Arabia, Puerto Rico and South Africa. The least affordable housing is in Syria.
