Kazakhstan plans to export space satellites

Kazakhstan is set to develop remote sensing satellites jointly with the Turkic countries. This issue is currently being discussed within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) that includes Azerbaijan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan. As experts noted, the project will deepen cooperation and the use of space technologies to monitor natural and environmental changes in the region.

«Kazakhstan has proposed an initiative for developing the technical device for this project. However, OTS members can also participate in the design and preparation stages. They are invited to contribute their own technologies as well. All these projects, along with the national initiative to launch three Earth remote sensing satellites by 2027, showcase the accumulated experience and potential in the industry,» said Kaiyrzhan Kozhayev, Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary national company.

Kazakhstan will also work on a satellite project for the Republic of Congo and will collaborate with Mongolia on the development and supply of a spacecraft, which will be part of the KazEOSat international constellation. Additionally, the country plans to export its satellite technologies, aiming to strengthen its position in the global space market and attract investment, particularly in the development of satellite constellations.
