170 new industrial projects are
planned to be commissioned in Kazakhstan this year, according to the country’s
Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development. For instance, large-scale
production of ferrosilicon used to deoxidize and melt steel will begin in the
third quarter of 2023 near Ekibastuz in the Pavlodar region. It is also used as
a reducing agent in the production of ferroalloys. Also, a plant for the production
of special coke will start operating in the Karagandy region. The production of
key components for commercial truck axle will be launched in Kostanai. In
addition, there are plans to produce household appliances in Saran, aluminum
radiators in Almaty, conical towers for wind generators in Karagandy, and
aluminum discs in Pavlodar. Aiming to ensure food security, the country will
expand the manufacture of pasta, milk and dairy products, poultry meat, and
other products.
