Kazakhstan develops first mobile game for learning Kazakh

The first Kazakh-language mobile game was presented in Kazakhstan. STEPPE GAMES, based on an interactive learning method, is designed to help children and teenagers learn Kazakh in an engaging and playful way. The game encourages communication skills through immersion rather than rote memorization and also promotes national cultural values. It features several levels where players can take part in traditional activities such as tug-of-war, playing assyk, and hunting with a Tazy dog, which serves as the children’s guide throughout the game.

«As you know, the Tazy is our national treasure. One could say that today this character has taken on a new meaning. Thanks to the game, children can master the A1 and A2 levels,» said Makpal Zhumabai, Director of the National Scientific-Practical Center «Til-Qazyna».

«Today, there is a need for quality games that introduce Kazakh customs and traditions to the younger generation through the medium of technology,» noted Nurtore Zhussip, member of the Senate, Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.
