The Kazakh government has allocated 40 billion tenge from
its reserve to support the grain industry, in line with the Head of State's
instructions. The corresponding resolution was signed by the Prime Minister.
The funds will be used to enhance the competitiveness of Kazakh grain exports
and expand into new markets. Last year, the country achieved a record grain
harvest of over 25 million tonnes. Domestic demand is around 10 million tonnes,
while average exports exceed 12 million tonnes. Most exports are directed to
traditional markets, with two million tonnes going to new ones. Traditional
export routes include Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, and
Afghanistan. Shipments to Iran and Azerbaijan have also increased.
