In 2023, Kazakhstan allocated 2.5
trillion tenge to finance its healthcare system, with over half of the total
amount designated to increase expenditures on outpatient clinics. 13 times more
funds or 78 billion tenge were directed toward rehabilitation. Kazakhstan
continues to confidently progress towards the task set to dedicate five percent
of GDP to healthcare spending by 2027. This year witnessed the construction of
90 new hospitals and clinics and the modernization of 80 facilities in various
regions. As for the development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry, the
country initiated a project for the manufacturing of syringes. The production
of ultrasonic stationary diagnostic systems from a South Korean company, and
the production of hearing aids, irradiators, and filtering masks were launched
as well. Kazakhstan introduced 80 new technologies in transplantology, cardiac
surgery, oncology, and cutting-edge cellular technologies. Approximately 20,000
patients have already received treatment using these innovative
approaches.
“The Modernization of Rural Healthcare national
project has been implemented with the support of the Kazakh President.
Starting next year, the construction of more than 500 facilities will commence.
Additionally, 32 district hospitals will undergo modernization. It is planned
to open stroke, coronary, and minimally invasive surgical centers at these
hospitals,” said Kazakh Health Minister Azhar Giniyat.
