Kazakhstan aims to establish marine vessel production

Kazakhstan may establish its own marine vessel production. According to the draft National Infrastructure Plan until 2029, the country is seeing a growing need for a domestic ferry fleet and an expansion of the tanker fleet. The shipbuilding enterprise is set to be situated along the Caspian Sea coast in the Mangystau region. Additionally, there are plans to introduce a vessel traffic management system at the port of Aktau, with subsequent integration into the systems of the Kuryk and Bautino ports, aimed at preventing maritime transport accidents. A rescue coordination center will also be established. The process of digitalizing control and supervisory functions of government agencies will continue as well. Thus, an electronic document management system with a single window principle will be introduced at maritime checkpoints.
