Since the beginning of 2024, Kazakhstan
has registered a decrease in the incidence rates of 21 infectious diseases,
including COVID-19, as was announced by Health Minister Akmaral Alnazarova
during a meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. She highlighted the
ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and accessibility of medical services. The
meeting focused on reviewing approaches to organizing primary and hospital
medical care, as well as updating standards for diagnosis and treatment. The
Head of State was briefed on the strategic plans for healthcare infrastructure
development for 2025-2030. The adopted Concept includes 34 anchor projects
aimed at establishing an optimal and efficient network of healthcare
facilities.
«Discussions covered the
organization of quality and accessible medical services, ensuring the
efficiency and transparency of procurement systems for pharmaceuticals and
medical devices. The Head of State was also informed about the implementation
of modern digital technologies designed to enhance transparency and efficiency
in medical institutions’ operations and improve control over the compulsory
social health insurance system. The President set tasks for a qualitative
restructuring of the healthcare system, emphasizing patient-oriented medical
care. He stressed the importance of transparency and efficiency in the
allocation of funds and the need to improve healthcare system management in
accordance with advanced international standards,» Alnazarova said.
