Kazakh PM discusses new plant construction with PepsiCo regional head

The largest PepsiCo plant in Central Asia will be established in the Almaty region. The investment in the project will amount to $320 million. This will allow potato processing volumes to triple, resulting in about 70,000 tonnes of finished products per year. It is expected to reach full production capacity by September 2027. This became known during a meeting between Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and the head of the company for the region David Manzini. As part of the project, raw material storage capacity will be expanded, and scientific approaches will be developed to increase yields and product quality. Locally sourced raw materials will be used in production, with around 15 farms from the Pavlodar, Akmola, Karagandy, Almaty, and Zhetisu regions already involved.
