Domestic and foreign numismatists have a new goal. Kazakhstan issued into a circulation a collector coin “Roza Baglanova”. It was specially created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Kazakh nightingale. There is the inscription 100 TEŃGE at the bottom of the coin, which indicates its denomination. On the reverse side, there is an image of Baglanova, and on the left side of the portrait, there is an inscription 100 JYL. Sheetmusic to the song Ah Samara-Town that made Baglanova famous is illustrated around the coin circumference. Coins were minted from melchior. It does not lose its color and is resistant to various external influences. Circulation is 15,000 copies. Until the end of the year, a number of coins are planned to go on sale, which will continue the “Memorable events and unique people” series.
“The first one will be dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Mukhtar Auezov. The National Bank plans to issue two types - one cast of silver with a face value of 500 tenge value, and one made of melchior, which will be exactly the same as that of Roza Baglanova, with the same quality and circulation. Next, we plan to put into circulation a coin to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Akhmet Baitursynov, which will be made of the same metals used for Mukhtar Auezov coins,” said Almat Bassenov, a chief designer, the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
