A total of 240 billion tenge will
be directed towards the development of the agro-industrial sector in
Kazakhstan, while the subsidization volume for small and medium-sized business
projects will reach 320 billion tenge. Additionally, around 160 billion tenge
will be allocated for infrastructure development in 12 special economic and
industrial zones. The Kazakh government has outlined plans for implementing large-scale
infrastructure initiatives announced by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the
National Kurultai. According to Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, this year, at
least 70 planned projects will be commissioned, and the load of domestic
enterprises in the manufacturing sector will be increased to an average of 65
percent. The construction of new railway lines, logistics centers, and
warehouses will continue to further develop the country’s transport and
logistics potential. Plans include increasing freight transportation volumes by
rail to 450 million tonnes, by road to 316 million tonnes, and transit
transport to 30 million tonnes. The government has also outlined work on the
development of the information and communication services sector, including increasing
IT service exports to $600 million. Measures for the development of the
country’s housing sector have also been provided.
“Firstly, in terms of housing
construction, there are plans to build 18 million square meters of housing this
year. Additionally, we aim to increase the volume of rental housing for
socially vulnerable segments of the population fourfold. For this purpose, 272
billion tenge will be allocated. Furthermore, starting from May 1, Otbasy Bank
will launch a new preferential mortgage program covering 12,000 families. To
support this initiative, 300 billion tenge will be allocated,” said Kazakh Minister
of National Economy Nurlan Baibazarov.
