Kazakh government allocates over 5.8 billion tenge for children’s vaccination

Over 5.8 billion tenge have been allocated in Kazakhstan from the government reserve for children’s immunization against dangerous diseases, including whooping cough, diphtheria, viral hepatitis, measles, tetanus, poliomyelitis, and Haemophilus influenzae infection. Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov signed the corresponding decree, which provides for purchasing vaccines and medical devices. The funds will be directed to the regional governor’s offices, as well as the mayor’s offices of cities of national significance, and the capital. Approximately 748,000 vaccine doses and over 540,000 syringes will be procured. Notably, this vaccination campaign is aimed at children who, for any reason, missed their vaccinations according to the National Immunization Schedule. The Health Ministry notes that the country’s measles epidemiological situation is stabilizing, with a one-third decrease in the incidence rate over the last two months.
