Kazakh citizens set major and unusual records

Residents of Kamysty village in the Kostanai region have set another record and entered Kazakhstan's Book of Records. This time, they prepared the largest number of baursaks (a puffy fried bread) in the country, with a total weight of 2,339 kilograms and 650 grams of the national dish. A representative of Kazakhstan's Book of Records officially recorded this achievement. Notably, the previous record was also set by the residents of Kamysty village. This time, yurts and tents were set up in the central square, and large cauldrons were installed. Some participants rolled out the dough, others cut it, some fried it, while others carefully counted the number of baursaks made.

«It's so great that such events are organized at the district level. We can all get together and participate in such a forum. It's really interesting and wonderful, as if time is returning, with communication among our own people. It’s great! Our common goal unites us, and we strive to not let our district down,» shared record participant Valentina Korniyenko.

It should be noted that this is the second record set by the village residents. They were first included in the Kazakhstan information-encyclopedic reference book last year for making snowmen, precisely 2,300 of them.

«Today, not only a Kazakhstan record but also a world record was set. For the first time in the country, such a large number of snowmen were made. The record was global, not just national, as it surpassed the Harbin record, which was registered in 2018, with a total of 2,018 snowmen,» said Kuandyk Kudaibergenov, official representative of Kazakhstan's Book of Records.
