President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Stadler
Kazakhstan plant, where he inspected the first passenger railcar produced at
the facility. The railcar has a service life of 40 years. The plant assembles
sleeper, reserved-seat, and accessible railcars for passengers with limited
mobility. This year, the facility plans to produce 51 railcars, with a total of
557 units expected by 2030. During the visit, President Tokayev was also
briefed on the progress of railway system modernization. Reconstruction of 125
train stations is currently underway across the country. In cooperation with
international partners, new solutions are being implemented to enhance the
quality of passenger services. Trains are being equipped with satellite
internet, and to strengthen security, 4,000 surveillance cameras with data
analysis capabilities are being deployed.
