The 10th International
Military-Patriotic Youth Gathering «Aibyn» gathered teams from Kazakhstan,
Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic in Almaty. A
total of 750 young boys and girls, aged 14 to 17, are participating in this
year’s event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Army General Sagadat
Nurmagambetov. Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Gizat
Nurdauletov delivered a welcome message from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to
the participants.
«In the coming days, you will
compete in strength, agility, and endurance, testing your knowledge and skills.
You will acquaint yourself with the latest military technologies and forge new
friendships. Most importantly, you will see firsthand that the key to high
performance in military service is discipline, responsibility, mutual support,
and unity,» said Nurdauletov.
Throughout the week, participants
will compete in national and various military-applied sports, showcase their
projects in young inventors’ contests, and take part in intellectual games. An
exhibition of military equipment is also scheduled to take place.
«I believe that ‘Aibyn’ is an
event that evokes patriotic feelings, allowing us to demonstrate our military
training. We are determined to compete with honor and proudly raise our flag,» said
Temirlan Bakhyt, commander of the Alatau Qyrandary team.
«I have been deeply impressed by
these competitions, which I believe foster communication among youth from
different countries. We have been preparing for six months, but one could say
we’ve been preparing our entire lives, given the continuous training at our
Suvorov Military School. We are very hopeful that we will achieve excellent
results and secure top positions,» said Oleg Solovtsov, cadet of Minsk Suvorov
Military School in Belarus.
