Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister for Emergency Situations Syrym
Sharipkhanov, who was tasked with reducing the number of emergencies in the
country. The Head of State was also informed about the upcoming transformation
of the ministry. According to Sharipkhanov, considering the increasing number
and scale of emergencies, it is planned to shift the state’s civil protection
system from emergency response to prevention. Amendments and additions are
being made to existing regulatory legal acts to ensure the safety of Kazakh
citizens in a proactive manner. President Tokayev was also briefed on the
material and technical equipment and the implementation of digitalization in
rescue units. Sharipkhanov also highlighted the enhancement of social
protection level for rescuers and firefighters.
