Governments of Kazakhstan and China discuss agricultural cooperation prospects

The trade turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and China nearly doubled last year. In the first quarter of 2024, this figure increased by another six percent. Notably, the export of domestic agricultural products to China grew by 84 percent over the year. Further prospects for enhancing cooperation in this area were discussed during a meeting between Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Vice Premier of the State Council of China Liu Guozhong. Kazakhstan is ready to increase the supply of organic and environmentally friendly agricultural products to the Chinese market. Priorities also include the creation of joint projects for deep processing in the agricultural sector. On his part, Liu Guozhong expressed China's intention to develop cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence, e-commerce, satellite communications, and green energy. Overall, the two countries are currently implementing 45 joint projects worth $14.5 billion.
