Experts: Central Asia and Kazakhstan’s role in global market to increase

At the Boao Forum for Asia, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev outlined initiatives addressing the current global challenges which sparked significant interest among experts. They concern multilateral trade, accessible finance, solutions to food crises, logistics, and technology transfer. Also, the main idea in the Head of State’s speech was joining efforts in response to modern challenges. Economists and analysts share his opinion regarding the increasing role of the Asian region. Besides, President Tokayev emphasized Central Asia’s growing role, noting that Kazakhstan is the largest regional economy with ambitious goals such as doubling the economy by 2029. According to former President of Slovenia and former President of the UN Security Council Danilo Turk, Kazakhstan has all the potential to become one of the strongest economies on the continent.

“It was as I said a very powerful message, showing a great power of the development of Kazakhstan and transformation of it into a major factor of Asian development. Great detail in explaining the progress made so far and the plans,” said Danilo Turk, former President of Slovenia.

Experts are confident that focusing on enhancing and consolidating the region’s transport and logistics capabilities is the right strategy. Also, Kazakhstan, positioned along the route of the Middle Corridor, has the potential to become a transit hub for Asia.

“He put a special focus on the coordination between the B&R Initiative and the Middle Corridor. It’s an efficient solution to the challenges the world is facing now,” said Ismail Hakki Musa, Turkish Ambassador to China.
