Evacuation of Kazakh citizens from Middle East continues

Kazakh citizens continue to be evacuated from Middle Eastern countries. Over 600 of our compatriots who had been performing Hajj in Mecca, Medina, and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia were brought home on four charter flights. Three aircraft landed in Atyrau and one in Aktau. Another 314 people returned to Kazakhstan from Oman and the UAE on a Muscat-Almaty flight. Repatriation efforts are ongoing in coordination with the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Transport, and air carriers. According to the Foreign Ministry, some citizens are also returning home by land. In particular, Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions in Tehran, Gorgan, Ashgabat, and Yerevan assisted in the departure of people through the Iran-Turkmenistan and Iran-Armenia border crossings. Overall, more than 1,200 Kazakh citizens have been evacuated from the escalation zone and returned home.
