Kazakhstan and the European Union are experiencing their most dynamic period of cooperation in decades. In 2023, Central Asia was officially designated a strategic partner of the EU for the first time. Against this backdrop, ties with Kazakhstan have taken on particular significance: from the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor to dialogue on simplifying visa procedures.
We spoke with Aleška Simkić, the EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan, about the main priorities from expanding educational programs and supporting youth, to investing in transport infrastructure and critical raw materials.
