The exhibition «Kumbіrle, konyr dombyra», dedicated to the
National Dombyra Day, opened at the Central State Museum. It showcases rare
items that once belonged to prominent figures in culture, science, and the arts
- including Zhayau Musa,
Akhmet Zhubanov, Kulyash Baiseitova, Kanysh Satpayev, and others. The
collection has been enriched with another unique exhibit: People's Artist of
Kazakhstan Seken Turysbek donated his personal dombyra, which served him for 30
years. In total, the museum houses over 60 dombyras, each with its own story.
Visitors to the exhibition not only viewed these cultural artifacts but also
enjoyed live music.
«The dombyra is the soul. Its voice must resonate through
the centuries, and I want my dombyra to be preserved for future generations.
Let it continue its life in the museum, among other great instruments,» said Seken
Turysbek, People’s Artist of Kazakhstan.
