Kazakhstan plans to introduce a digital system for
monitoring working conditions. As announced by the Minister of Labour and
Social Protection of the Population Svetlana Zhakupova at a government meeting,
sensors connected to the unified information system ‘Occupational Safety and
Health’ will be used for this purpose. This will enable real-time tracking of
harmful factors, risk identification, and prompt response measures. A digital
profile of enterprises will be created, reflecting all parameters related to
occupational safety and health. To effectively monitor enterprise activities, a
Control Map for the implementation of technical re-equipment has also been
developed. Large production facilities in the mining and metallurgical sector
will invest 1.8 trillion tenge in modernization by 2028. The funds will be
directed toward improving energy efficiency, reducing negative environmental
impact, and enhancing working conditions. Furthermore, a branch of the
International Labour Organization’s Turin Training Centre is planned to open in
Kazakhstan to provide high-quality and systematic training for local
specialists.
«The opening of a branch of the International Labor Organization
training center will enable the systematic and high-quality training of
occupational safety specialists without the need to travel abroad. It will help
improve the qualifications of domestic personnel by incorporating advanced international
practices, strengthen institutional ties between social partners, government
agencies, and international organizations, as well as enhance Kazakhstan’s role
as a regional center of competence in the field of occupational safety in
Central Asia,» noted Kazakh Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the
Population Svetlana Zhakupova.
