Comic Con Astana 2024 is taking place in the
Kazakh capital. The world-renowned festival has attracted fans of
comics, anime, movies, TV shows, and video game characters. The festival
promoting geek culture allows guests to interact with famous actors, get
autographs, and take photos. Cosplay is a major highlight, with participants
who perfectly replicate their favorite characters competing for prizes. For
fans of this genre, this is a true celebration and an opportunity to showcase
their vibrant costumes.
It’s a great festival, the largest one in
Central Asia. I’ve been interested in cosplay for about two years. It
took me a month and 50,000 tenge to create this costume.
I think it’s a wonderful event. Many
people from neighboring countries can come and see our capital Astana. They
will get a deeper understanding of our culture and spiritual values.
We need to develop the entertainment industry,
which will attract more visitors and influence demand.
One of the main guests at this year’s Comic Con
festival is Percy Hynes White. The actor, known for his leading role in
the popular series «Wednesday,» has expressed his amazement at the scale of the
event taking place in Kazakhstan. He also had the opportunity to explore the
capital and praised its scenic beauty.
«Everyone is just so kind, and I did a whole
tour: I went to the history museum, saw the golden man, went to Bayterek Tower,
and went up. There were just so many different things, and I learned so
much information. The history of the city is so fascinating and strange. It’s
awesome. The movie «Wanted» is by a Kazakh director, and I love that movie with
James McAvoy,» said actor Percy Hynes White.
It is noteworthy that the Comic Con festival
will run until July 28. It is expected to attract more than 5,000 guests
not only from across Kazakhstan but also from countries near and far abroad.
