Comfortable School national project kicks off in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan has started implementing the Comfortable School national project. The issue of opening educational institutions with comfortable educational conditions was discussed at the Government’s meeting. Thus, in 2024-2025, a total of 369 new-format schools for 740,000 pupils will be built in the state. This is expected to finally resolve the issues of overcrowded classrooms, emergency schools and three-shift education. It bears noting that to date, corresponding roadmaps for the construction of new educational institutions have been prepared for each region. Standards for their technological equipment have been developed so far, high-quality Internet connection will be provided at each school. The teaching staff forming will also continue. Thus, in the coming years, it is planned to train 49,000 teachers of the new formation to the highest professional standards. Besides, a corps of principals of comfortable schools is being trained. Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov stressed that within the implementation of the national project, it is necessary to speed up the work on determining contractors and land plots, as well as on preparing the necessary design and estimate documentation. In general, the country is set to provide 1.5 million student places with comfortable educational conditions in the nearest future. Already in 2023, it is planned to open another 146 schools for 130,000 pupils.
