A book about war participant Shukir Yerkinov has been
published in Kazakhstan. His story is a symbol of bravery and unwavering love
for his homeland. Writer Tolegen Zhanabayev recounts his heroic deeds on the
front. The author studied the soldier’s biography, and, in his work, described
the life journey of the scout. Yerkinov
went to war at the age of 18 and served on the Western and Belorussian fronts.
For exceptional courage and fearlessness, he was awarded the Order of Glory in
three classes and several medals. In April 1945, Yerkinov single-handedly
captured 25 German soldiers and officers.
«Later, two German prisoners were brought to the division,
where they provided the location of their unit and other important details.
This was his heroic deed in the final stage before victory. For this, Shukir
Yerkinov was awarded the Order of Glory, 1st class. It was an extraordinary
feat,» Zhanabayev said.
