Authority of Kazakhstan’s citizenship institution grows

In Kazakhstan, the number of people seeking to change their citizenship has decreased by 22 times over the past six years. This trend was noted by State Counselor Erlan Karin at a meeting of the Commission on Citizenship under the President of Kazakhstan. As Karin emphasized, these facts indicate a steady growth in the authority of Kazakhstan’s citizenship institution and the confidence of citizens in the country’s future.

«Overall, in recent years, we have seen positive dynamics in the reduction of applications for renunciation of Kazakh citizenship. In 2019, 1,700 people applied to renounce their citizenship. In the following years - 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 - this figure dropped to just over 100 annually, with only 77 cases recorded last year,» Karin said.
