Astana hosts ethno-concert as part of World Nomad Games

During the fifth World Nomad Games, a special gala concert entitled «Uly Dala Uni» at the Ethno-auyl venue showcased the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the nomads to guests and residents of Astana. Popular Kazakh multi-instrumentalist and composer Yedil Khussainov performed a special program, where traditional folk music of the Great Steppe with nomadic percussion instruments was accompanied by the Korkyt ethnic ensemble and a wind orchestra. Notably, Khussainov’s vibrant and unique compositions blend ethnic and contemporary musical elements, making his art especially appealing and resonant with audiences.

«I composed four new pieces specifically for this festival, for the fifth World Nomad Games. They are performed with an orchestra. I am very pleased with our creative collaboration, we played well together. The orchestra musicians are true professionals. The sound of ancient instruments blends perfectly with modern music. I noticed that foreigners like this combination,» Khussainov said.
