Almaty region GRP volume reaches five trillion tenge

The Almaty region secured the fifth place in Kazakhstan in terms of the gross regional product (GRP) which reached five trillion tenge. Governor Marat Sultangaziyev informed President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev about the main results of the region’s socio-economic development for the first five months of 2024. Additionally, he reported on the region’s investment portfolio by 2030, which includes 207 projects totaling 3.7 trillion tenge. Around 60 of these projects are scheduled for implementation this year. During the meeting, the prospects for the development of such cities as Konayev, Alatau, and the whole agglomeration were discussed. President Tokayev instructed to intensify work with potential investors for implementing the Alatau City flagship project.
