‘Alem Saz’ International Music Festival takes place in Kazakhstan

The best artists from Kazakhstan, Turkey, Japan, Hungary, Germany, Pakistan, Spain, and Russia came to Astana. For a whole week, they will give the residents and guests of the Kazakh capital a real holiday during the Alem Saz International Music Festival. The event, which takes place in the Kazakh capital for the second time this year, aims to promote masterpieces of spiritual heritage and unite different national cultures. Last year, it was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and 76 countries. The rich program includes concerts, musical collaborations, masterclasses, and film screenings, which will continue until October 3. The festival was opened by a duo of Spanish musicians - pianist Gito Maleta and guitarist Amos Lora. It should be noted that they have visited Kazakhstan before and are familiar with the national culture and food. Now, the artists plan to identify new ways of cooperation with their Kazakh counterparts.

“We’ve brought a program composed of flamenco pieces with jazz and Latin music elements. This is a blend of our own musical works. We are very excited to be part of this festival. It’s a very beautiful hall and an amazing city. I am delighted with your architecture, a mixture of styles in the city and I am very pleased to receive such a warm welcome. I really like the sound of the Kazakh dombyra, thus, I would like to become more familiar with the national instruments of Kazakhstan,” said Amos Lora.
