The airport
in the city of Astana will become a major multimodal hub due to the
development cooperation with a company from the United Arab Emirates. The
corresponding agreement has already been signed. The priority tasks of the
company will include the preparation of the runway for reconstruction and its
further modernization. Repair works of ground infrastructure are planned to
start next year. In the future, the company will be entrusted with operational
management to improve the quality of service for the growing passenger traffic
and overall efficiency of the airport. A long-term business plan will also be created
for the development of the country’s main air gate. According to the Kazakh Ministry
of Transport, the balance of interests of the state and the private company
will be taken into account, which will provide a basis for future investments.
