59 new renewable energy facilities to appear in Kazakhstan by 2025

59 new renewable energy facilities will appear in Kazakhstan by 2025. Thus, their number will exceed 180 throughout the country with a total capacity of approximately 4,500 megawatts. This was stated by Kazakh Minister of Energy Nurlan Nogayev. According to him, given the growing consumption of electricity, the development of flexible capacities is an important condition for ensuring the energy security of Kazakhstan. About one trillion tenge of investments will be attracted for the implementation of projects. Thus, the share of renewable energy sources will be doubled. In addition, the country plans to work out new approaches to the development of the peaceful nuclear energy use and hydrogen energy. In particular, grants and scholarships will be allocated for students to major in these areas in the world's leading universities.
