A total of 90 million tenge was
raised at the Winter Charity Ball in the city of Astana. The funds will be used
to create conditions for providing quality education for children with
disabilities. This year, the event is held for the 14th time by the Bolashak Corporate Foundation. The annual winter ball
has previously raised funds for the development of inclusive education in
schools. However, the organizers now intend to focus on vocational education
institutions as well. Projects aimed at supporting students are currently being
implemented in a pilot mode.
“For the entire time of the
winter charity ball, we have raised over 800 million tenge. During this period,
we have opened and equipped 58 inclusive classrooms in schools and
kindergartens in 22 cities across Kazakhstan,” said Dinara Gaplan, Chairperson
of the Board of Trustees of "Bolashak" Corporate Charity Foundation.
“We are inspired and respect the
work that the whole large team has done, in particular, the goals they set and
the assistance they provide to vulnerable groups of the population,” said Eldar
Sarsenov, participant of the Winter Charity Ball.
A special auction was also
organized that evening. The most expensive item, a pair of boxing gloves with
Gennady Golovkin’s autograph, was sold for 15 million tenge. Additionally,
Dimash Kudaibergen’s costume was sold at the auction for five million tenge.
“Every year, I conduct a charity
auction. The participants compete while doing good deeds, and that is the most
important aspect,” said entrepreneur Beibit Alibekov.
