More than one trillion tenge will be allocated for the modernization of energy and public utility infrastructure in Kazakhstan. This was announced at a government meeting chaired by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. This year, major repairs are planned for nine power units, as well as more than 100 boilers and turbines. Around 384 billion tenge is allocated for these works, which is 9% more than last year. The reconstruction is being carried out under the ‘Tariff in exchange for investments’ program. At the same time, the national project on modernization of energy infrastructure is being implemented. Within its framework, the renewal of 130 km of heating networks and over 10,000 km of electricity infrastructure is planned. To date, more than 25 billion tenge has already been approved from the government reserve and allocated for the modernization of facilities in the Zhetisu, Abai, Akmola, and East Kazakhstan regions, as well as for the repair of heating networks in four regions.
«Regional
authorities have been instructed to complete all procedures and
begin repair works within two weeks. No excessive bureaucracy should be allowed
in this process. The repair of heat supply
facilities must be completed no later than the end of August. In the northern,
central, and eastern regions, all engineering infrastructure and housing and
communal services facilities must be fully prepared for commissioning by
September 15, and in other regions by October 15. The
governors are instructed to
personally oversee the situation through regular on-site visits,» Olzhas Bektenov noted.
