The construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of one gigawatt is planned in Zhambyl region. The country attracted several investors for the implementation of the large-scale project. Kazakh Ministry of Energy noted that a new technology would not only allow harnessing the power of wind for electricity, but also accumulating and issuing it during peak hours of the country’s energy system. The project will also facilitate the generation of “green” energy in the country.
“This will be a fairly modern power plant with a capacity of one gigawatt. In general, this will allow solving the issues of the construction of our energy system. And plus, significantly reduce emissions,” said Bolat Akchulakov, Kazakh Minister of Energy.
