A series of national comic strips, which includes seven stories about great love, was published in Kazakhstan. The best examples of Kazakh lyrical folklore were brought out under the Legends of the Great Steppe project. Each of the fairy tales tells about the most legendary works of the Kazakh people through colorful illustrations and an ethno style artistic design. At the same time, they retain the storyline and the main message of each work. The books are available in three languages, including Kazakh, Russian and English. It is expected that a series of new comics about the great heroes of the Kazakh land will also be published before the end of the year. And a year later, comics about Kazakh Khans will see the light.
“In April this year, we plan to publish nearly 10,000 to 15,000 copies and distribute them to orphanages, schools and children’s libraries. We created electronic versions of books to reach a larger audience. They are published on a special website kazcomics.kz. We also developed a mobile app, which I think is very convenient. We are looking at other similar electronic platforms around the world and are improving the platform to make the page easily accessible,” said Azat Shauyeyev, Director, State Language Development Fund.
People will be able to plunge into the fairy-tale world through the audio version as well. It is planned to be presented before the end of the year. In addition, an animated film will be produced for each of the fairy tales.
