Dozens of agreements were signed following
the 20th Kazakhstan-Russia Interregional Cooperation Forum in Ufa. The Pavlodar
and Novosibirsk regions were among the first to sign the documents. The regions
have agreed to strengthen partnership over the next three years in 10 areas,
including entrepreneurship and agriculture. This will provide an additional impetus
to the economic growth of the two countries. Currently, one third of the trade
turnover of the Pavlodar region falls on the Novosibirsk and Omsk regions.
«Not all of them are large; there are small
and medium-sized businesses that are cooperative. There are also retail chains
that work closely together, as well as many suppliers with major supply
agreements for their products, including agricultural goods. For instance, our
vegetable growers or greenhouse farms provide tomatoes and cucumbers there in
large volumes,» noted the governor of the Pavlodar region Asain Baikhanov.
